MSL: CheMin (Chemistry and Mineralogy)

August 2, 2024. MSL Release 36 includes new CheMin raw (EDR) and derived (RDR) data from sols 4000-4133, November 6, 2023 - March 23, 2024.

April 25, 2024. All previously-released MSL CheMin derived data products have been migrated to the PDS4 standard. See the pds4_notes document for details.

CheMin identifies and measures the abundance of various minerals on Mars using X-ray diffraction. CheMin analyzes powdered rock samples generated by the rover's drill and soil samples collected by the rover's scoop. CheMin data sets are produced by the CheMin Team at NASA Ames Reseach Center.
